Personality Portraits

What are personality Portraits?

These are something very different from a regular family session. These sessions are 10-15 minutes in length and take place in a studio setting (at my house). The goal of these sessions is to document the unique personality of your child or children. Each session is for one individual child (they can be combined them for families with multiple kids).

WHAT TO EXPECT:

You can expect your kids to have a fun session with me while we play and laugh and make faces and spin in circles and anything else that makes your kiddo feel totally themselves. You’ll get 7-10 black and white images of each individual child.

WHY SIGN UP FOR A PERSONALITY PORTRAIT:

These aren’t meant to be a replacement for your regular family photo session. These are more a quick, easy way to document your child during those pivotal years where they grow and change so much. They are meant to freeze in time every little crinkle and drooly chin and silly face that will be gone before you know it.

WHAT TO WEAR:

I recommend medium to darker toned clothing. These are all taken on a white backdrop so anything stark white will fade into the backdrop. The majority of your images will be closer up, but it's possible you might see bottoms/shoes (or bare feet which is great too!).

Bows/hats/headbands are great, but I recommend darker colors. Specifically avoiding white if possible.

Texture, layers and patterns work really well. Text, not so much unless it is something intentional you want in the photo. Just keep in mind, it is likely the text will get cut off in some images.

Let their personality shine! Remember these are to show off your child's personality so whatever makes them unique is what will work best. This includes a special lovey, favorite toy or anything they are currently into...feel free to bring anything that makes them shine!

If you have multiple kids being photographed together, I would recommend contrasting their outfits slightly (ie: not all wearing black). Same goes if a parent is participating.
