Personality Portraits
CUMC Preschool Fundraiser
What are personality Portraits?
Personality Portraits are a little different from a traditional family photo session. These quick, 20-minute sessions are designed to capture the unique personality, expressions and little quirks that make up exactly who your child is in this season of childhood.
Sessions take place in my home studio and are for up to two children. If you have three or more children, or would like your children photographed together, additional time can be added.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
This is not a session where your kids are expected to sit still and smile at the camera. We’ll play and laugh and make faces and spin in circles and do whatever it takes for them to feel completely themselves.
You’ll receive 10-15 black and white images of each individual child, capturing all those little expressions and personality-filled moments that are so uniquely them before they become someone new.
WHY SIGN UP FOR A PERSONALITY PORTRAIT SESSION:
It’s the little things you know by heart. The way they wrinkle their nose, that goofy grin, the wild hair, the expression they make when they’re being completely themselves. Personality Portraits are about documenting those little pieces of childhood that change before you realize you’re going to miss them.
And for our preschool families, there’s an extra reason to sign up. This special offer is also a fundraiser for our preschool! A portion of every Personality Portrait session booked through this page will be donated back to help support the school we love.
It’s a simple way to capture a little piece of your family’s childhood while giving back to our preschool we love so much.

WHAT TO WEAR:
I recommend medium to darker toned clothing. These are all taken on a white backdrop so anything stark white will fade into the backdrop. The majority of your images will be closer up, but it's possible you might see bottoms/shoes (or bare feet which is great too!).
Bows/hats/headbands are great, but I recommend darker colors. Specifically avoiding white if possible.
Texture, layers and patterns work really well. Text, not so much unless it is something intentional you want in the photo. Just keep in mind, it is likely the text will get cut off in some images.
Let their personality shine! Remember these are to show off your child's personality so whatever makes them unique is what will work best. This includes a special lovey, favorite toy or anything they are currently into...feel free to bring anything that makes them shine!
If you have multiple kids being photographed together, I would recommend contrasting their outfits slightly (ie: not all wearing black). Same goes if a parent is participating.
